Receive Immediate Notification of Important Information
Nixle is a free subscription service that enables the user to receive immediate messages from the police department. The messages can be sent via e-mail (free) and/or text message (your plan charges, if any, would apply).
Nixle has partnered with the International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Sheriffs Association, VeriSign, and other organizations. It operates on the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System. More information about this service can be found at www.nixle.com/faqs.html.
To get started, click on the Nixle link and search for us under the ZIP Code 53037. To receive messages automatically, click on the "Sign Up Now" box.
Our NIXLE messages will be automatically shared with Twitter users. Our Twitter name is JacksonWIPolice.
Please note that this system will not be used to send severe weather bulletins, as that task is handled by the National Weather Service. The Police and Fire Departments urge all residents to obtain a weather radio. Remember, sirens are not intended to alert persons in buildings. For more information: www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrrcvr.htm
